Academic Levels Covenant of the Crossroads offers five academic levels for the purpose of extensive learning in a Pagan religion, advancement within the Temple hierarcy and in-depth training inthe Victorian Tradition. Each level offers greater responsibility and involvement within the Temple. Each level is approximately a 13 month commitment. Initiate This is the first level of academic advancement. During this first year the Initiate will learn the basic concepts of Paganism including history, ethics, personal responsiblity and much more. Elder Initiate Elder Initiate is the second level of academic advancement and focus' on the spirituality of Earth and Water. Acolyte Acolyte is the apprentice level and training focus' on leadership skills and advanced training in personal spiritual development. Elder Acolyte Elder Acolyte is the fourth level of academic advancement and focus' on the spirituality of Fire and Air. Magus Magus is the last level of academic training. The Magus is a leader in their lives and in the Temple. Magus level training involves training in community leadership and spirituality. The Magus has the option of becoming an Elder of the Temple and/or petitioning for Ministerial training. For a graphical representation please view our Levels Chart | Spiritual Levels Covenant of the Crossroads Spiritual Levels are gained though elemental degrees. The elements used are the five western elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. Each element has different aspects that represent different parts of life. It is these aspects that the sutdent will work with to gain these levels. Focus here will be on improving oneself though the natural cycles of life and the natural world around them. Though standards are set for one year per element, longer times are acceptable for recognizing elemental degrees. This parth is not for leadership advancement within the Temple, and it will not lead to any leadership roles other than to pass your element on to another in a mentorship role. Elementalist may run for the offices of Scribe, Herald, Wayfarer or Merchant. It is a path for those who only wish to gain religious and spiritual oneness with themselves and the gods. At the highest level the Spirit Master may choose to become a Spirit Elder and may sit on the Elders Council. The Levels All elementals students must start their journey with an Initiate degree. Once the first year is completed then they may move on and choose an element to study. A student of first through fourth level may choose any element to study except Spirit. The Spirit level is an acumlation of all previous elemental training. Designations for these degrees are First Level lemental and so on up to Fifth Level Elemental or Spirit Master.  EarthThe Earth Priest/ess (green) will be able to integrate properties such as healing, prosperity, sucess, and grounding into their daily lives.  WaterThe Water Priest/ess (blue) will be able to integrate progerites such as emotional control, understanding, psychic abilities,a nd centerinto their daily lives.  FireThe Fire Priest/ess (orange) will be able to integrate properties such as purification, courage, strength, and self control into their daily lives.  AirThe Air Priest/ess (yellow) will be able to integrate properties such as inspiritation, travel, protectiona dn logic into their daily lives.  SpiritThe Spirit Priest/ess (black) will be able to integrate all properties from all the elements into their daily lives and be a Master of the Elements.
